Formative Courses

History of the Environment

This course explored the relationship between humans and their natural environment over the course of prehistory to present. The lessons learned here help contextualize how past relationships with the environment directly affect our current understanding of agriculture, green space, and forests.

Agroecology

This course examines how to best design agricultural systems to fulfil human needs without compromising ecological resources. Throughout our lectures and labs, we explored soil health and structure, the role of animals in agriculture, and plant relationships.

Global Inequalities

This course analyzes global systems and their relationship with inequalities and exploitation. The ways in which global labor systems, economies and populations interact tell a story of historical and long-term marginalization for many in impoverished countries.
